No. 1 Eagles Begin Hockey East Play Against UMass Lowell

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Now the top-ranked team in the nation, Boston College concludes a six-game homestand on Friday night in its Hockey East opener against UMass Lowell. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. and the game will air live on both NESN and ESPN+ from Kelley Rink. The home-and-home series concludes on Saturday night at 6 p.m. on ESPN+ at the Tsongas Center in Lowell.
THE RANKINGS
• Boston College men's hockey has been ranked No. 1 in the nation in Monday's USCHO.com and USA Hockey/The Rink Live polls
• The Eagles are the top-ranked team in the country for the first time since March 15, 2021 during the Hockey East Tournament

• BC ranks third nationally in average home attendance (North Dakota, Minnesota) with over 34,000 fans through five games for an average of 6,815 per home date

• The Swedish winger scored twice in Thursday's 6-4 victory for his first career multi-goal game and added a pair of assists in Friday's 5-1 win
• Perreault also registered a four-point series with two primary assists in each victory
• The forward from Hinsdale, Illinois has a point in four straight games with three multi-point performances during that span
SPARTY SWEEP
• Oskar Jellvik scored a pair of goals and Boston College pulled away in the third period to beat Michigan State 6-4 last Thursday night to open a non-conference series
• BC's freshman line of Will Smith (1-2-3), Ryan Leonard (1-1-2) and Gabe Perreault (0-2-2) combined for seven points in the victory, including Leonard's first collegiate goal
• Graduate defenseman Jacob Bengtsson also scored his first goal in a BC sweater
• On Friday, Cutter Gauthier and Jack Malone each scored a pair of goals to power Boston College past the Spartans 5-1 in front of a sellout crowd on the Heights
• Freshman netminder Jacob Fowler recorded a season-high 43 saves
• BC was 2-for-4 on the power play and held Michigan State scoreless on three opportunities
