BC Swept by Visiting Tigers

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College battled Clemson University before falling in three sets on Sunday afternoon. Scores of the set were 20-25, 23-25, and 16-25.
The Eagles battled point for point with the Tigers in the opening set, taking an early 3-1 lead before ultimately falling. Clemson had a late 5-0 run to close the set, 20-25.
Set two was back and forth, BC would tie it 15 times and get within one on 23 occasions. The set fell to the Tigers, 23-25.
Clemson closed out the match in the third, using a strong finish to secure the victory. BC trailed by two -11-13- before the Tigers rallied to score seven unanswered points. The Eagles could not dig out of that hole and dropped the frame, 16-25.
Katrina Jensen led the Eagles in kills, with 16. Jensen kit .462 for the match. Halle Schroder, Alayna Crabtree, and Julia Haggerty each had five kills on the afternoon. Anna Murphy led the Eagles defense with 19 digs best among all players on the match. The offense was guided by Sophia Lambros, Jane Petrie, and Grace Penn with 32 assists, led by Lambros with 17. Haggerty posted two blocks.
For the match, BC hit .164 (39 kills/21 errors/110 attempts) and registered six service aces.
The Eagles fall to 14-12 and 3-9 in ACC play and return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. in Chestnut Hill. They finish the week of conference play on the road in Raleigh, N.C against NC State.
