No. 13 Eagles fall to No. 12 Louisville in Regular Season Finale

Eagles defeated by the Cardinals 2-1 in double overtime
NEWTON, Mass. – The No. 13 Eagles (11-6, 2-4 ACC) battled with the No. 12 Cardinals (13-5, 3-3 ACC) on Friday afternoon, but ultimately fell short 2-1 in double overtime.
Both teams traded chances throughout the first half, but ultimately the score remained tied 0-0 after 30 minutes. The two teams continued to battle for most of the second half, until Boston College took the first lead of the game with 7:16 left in the fourth quarter when Peyton Hale took a pass from Juliette Hijdra off the corner and finished a shot in the upper corner of the cage. Hale's goal gives her nine goals on the season, which is good for second on the team.
Louisville quickly tied the game up at 1 less than a minute later off of a goal from Jane Ramsay with 6:26 left in the fourth.
Neither side would be able to pull ahead in the first period of overtime. After 72 minutes of action, the Eagles would eventually surrender the game-deciding goal off a penalty corner 2:44 into the second overtime from Mia Duchars.
Louisville had the edge in shot attempts (13-6), while also leading in shots on goal (3-1). Goalkeeper Caroline Kelly finished with one save in just over 72 minutes of play.Â
