Eagles Open Season Versus USC
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College lacrosse team enters the 2023 season ranked third in the USA Lacrosse Magazine's Nike/USA Lacrosse Preseason Top 20.
North Carolina was ranked first and Maryland followed at second. Stony Brook and Northwestern rounded out the top five at fourth and fifth, respectively.Â
Boston College is coming off a 19-4 campaign while reaching the national title a fifth straight season. The Eagles' 102 wins since 2017 leads the country.Â
BC will have to replace the likes of the NCAA's all-time leading goal scorer and back-to-back Tewaaraton award winner, Charlotte North, consensus All-American Courtney Taylor and the team's fourth-leading goal scorer in Caitlynn Mossman.Â
BC reloads with a veteran group that features five of its top seven scorers and a defense that lost Taylor due to graduation. Five players in  Belle Smith (No. 4), Jenn Medjid (No. 11), Sydney Scales (No. 22), Hollie Schleicher (No. 34) and Kayla Martello (No. 41) represented the Eagles in the top 50 returning players list according to Inside Lacrosse.Â
Boston College opens the season against USC on Feb. 11th at 12 p.m. in Fish Field House.
