CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Despite a 41-25 shot advantage, Boston College fell by a 3-1 final on Saturday night to fourth-ranked Boston University in the 290th Battle of Comm Ave at a sold out Kelley Rink.
The Eagles dropped to 9-9-5 (5-6-4 HEA), snapping a five-game unbeaten streak at home against the Terriers (19-6-0, 13-4-0 HEA) which dated back to Dec. 1, 2017.

Boston University took the lead 1:25 into the second period when Wilmer Skoog took a cross-zone pass from Devin Kaplan below the left dot and snuck a shot under the crossbar short side.
Case McCarthy doubled the Terriers' lead midway through the frame when he snuck a left point drive over Mitch Benson's right shoulder through a screen.
Boston College pulled a goal back during a 5-on-3 power play at 14:46 as Nikita Nesterenko found Andre Gasseau popping to the back door for a first-time finish inside the right post. Eamon Powell collected the secondary assist on Gasseau's fifth of the year.
The Eagles applied heavy pressure in the third period, out-shooting the Terriers 22-8, but BU netted an insurance goal when Jeremy Wilmer tipped Quinn Hutson's left wing shot into the bottom right corner with 8:23 remaining.
BC's furious comeback attempt in the closing minutes was halted by Trevor Kuntar hitting the right post on the power play. The Eagles were 1-for-5 on the power play and 5-for-5 on the kill.
