Jackson Becomes First Eagle to Record Sub-4:00 Mile at Terrier Classic

BOSTON – Steven Jackson continues to amaze in his junior season, becoming the first Eagle in program history to ever record a sub-4:00 minute indoor mile time at the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday, Jan. 27. Jackson rallied behind a 26-second final 200m to win his heat and finish sixth out of 230 runners overall with a time of 3:57.70 - topping his own record of 4:01.79 that was set just last week at BC's own Eagle Elite Invitational.
Cruz Brown (4:05.50) and Edward Tristine (4:12.55) also put together impressive mile runs, finishing 36th and 78th respectively out of 230 participants.
Max McQuide was also able to shine in his events, placing sixth out of 121 runners in the 400m dash and 27th out of 121 participants in the 200m dash.
The Eagles got busy in the 800m - with Spencer Pett (1:54.29), Friend Weiler III (1:54.44) and Eddie Kelly (1:54.69) all finishing the event within 0.40 seconds of each other. They placed 28th, 31st, and 36th respectively out of a field of 137 runners.
The 4x400m relay team of Eddie Kelly, Spencer Pett, Friend Weiler III, and John Wacker earned another top-10 finish for the Eagles - placing eighth out of 21 teams with a time of 3:20.92. Wacker also found individual success in the 500m, finishing 12th out of 21 with a time of 1:06.00.
