Eagles Seek Series Sweep on Saturday at Notre Dame

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. NOTRE DAME - ALL-TIME SERIES

Today's game marks the 42nd meeting between the two schools.
Boston College is 14-27 all-time vs. Notre Dame.
BC and ND have split their season series each of the last three years.
Earlier this month, BC closed on a 17-4 run to down the Irish, 70-63.
The two teams held serve on their respective home courts in 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22.
The Eagles have struggled at the Joyce Center - 4-15 all-time.
On Dec, 7, 2019. BC's 73-72 win ended a 11-game road slide at the Joyce Center. It also ended a 13-game overall losing streak vs. ND.
Previously, BC's last road win at Notre Dame was Jan. 11, 1997.
BC is 4-15 vs. ND in ACC play but has won three of the last four.

QUINTEN POST SETTLES BACK INTO LINEUP

Quinten Post has made an impact since returning to the BC lineup.
Post missed the first 13 games of the season due to a foot injury. He has played in the last six games, earning two starts.
He returned to the starting lineup against Wake Forest on Jan. 14, finishing with 10 points and three boards in 21 minutes.
Post has scored in double figures in five of his six games; he had eight points in his season debut at Syracuse.
Last time out at North Carolina, he scored a season-high 17 points (7-11 FG) in 20 minutes of play.
On Jan. 7 against #16/14 Duke, Post scored 16 points and grabbed six boards in 27 minutes off the bench.
Post put BC ahead with his jumper in the lane with 28 seconds remaining; he made six FG on the day, including two 3-pointers.
The 7-footer made his first five field goal attempts last time out vs. Notre Dame, finishing with 10 points and nine boards.
He is averaging 11.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and nearly 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in 21 minutes per game.
A 2022 ACC All-Tournament pick, Post finished last season as one of the league's top big men, averaging 11.2 points, 5.5 boards, 1.0 blocks while shooting nearly 58% from the floor and 56% from the perimeter over the final 10 games.

NEW STREAK STARTS TODAY

Boston College saw its 420-game streak with at least one made 3-pointer end on Jan. 17 at North Carolina.
BC was 0-for-6 from beyond the arc in the game - marking the first time since Nov. 28, 2009 that BC went without a 3-pointer.
The Eagles were the first ACC team this season - and the first since Virginia a season ago - to go 3-pointer-less in a game.
Last year, UVA was 0-for-6 from 3-point land vs. Louisville on March 9, 2022 and 0-for-9 vs. Virginia Tech on Feb. 14, 2022.

THE OFFICIAL MAKAI ASHTON-LANGFORD 1,000 POINT WATCH IS UNDERWAY

Makai Ashton-Langford needs eight points to reach the 1,000 point mark for his career.
The graduate student has scored 992 points in 128 career games at Providence and Boston College.
Since transferring to BC, he has tallied 743 points in 65 games over two-plus seasons between from 2020-23.
He is poised to become the second transfer in the past two years to reach his collegiate career scoring milestone.
James Karnik '22 reached the 1,000 point mark almost exactly a year ago - Jan. 22, 2022 - in a home win over Virginia Tech.

In five of its last seven games - all in ACC play - Boston College has committed nine turnovers per outing.
In conference play (eight games), BC is averaging just over 10 turnovers per game, while posting a 1.14:1 ATR.

Jaeden Zackery scored a season-high and game-high 18 points in the win over Notre Dame on Jan. 3.
The sophomore guard tallied 14 of his 18 points over the final 10 minutes of play in the second half against the Irish.
He made a career-high seven field goals in the game, while adding four boards and three assists in 37 minutes.
BC is 4-0 when Zackery scores at least 16 points in a game this season (Notre Dame, Stonehill, Rhode Island, Wyoming).
Prior to his 16-point game vs. Wyoming, he had tallied 11 points in his previous two games - including a season-low four points against Tarleton State, going without a field goal for the first time in his career to that point (39 games).
Against Wyoming (8-8) and Rhody (7-8), he went to the free throw line 16 times, connecting on 15.
When Zackery goes to the free throw line at least five times, Boston College is 3-1 in 2022-23 and 6-2 all-time.
Zackery has been BC's high scorer on six occasions and ranks third in scoring (10.7) since the return of Quinten Post.

LANGFORD BROTHERS QUITE A COMBO VS. MIAMI

DeMarr Langford Jr. (20) and Makai Ashton-Langford (19) scored 39 of Boston College's 72 points at #16/15 Miami.
DeMarr Langford Jr. finished with a season-high 20 points, making 10-of-13 shots from the floor, while also tallied six assists.
Makai Ashton-Langford added 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting, while adding two assists, a steal, and a blocked shot.
The brothers combined for 18 of BC's 32 made field goals and eight of the team's 14 assists.
In the second half, the Langfords combined for 27 of the Eagles' 44 points and 12 of 20 made field goals.
It was the third-highest single-game scoring output by a pair of brothers on the same team this season.
Connor (17) and Patrick (24) McCaffrey combined for 41 against Wisconsin on Dec. 11, while Tanner (14) and Jacob (26) Groves put up 40 points for Oklahoma in a win over Central Arkansas on Dec. 17.

LANGFORD JR. DEVELOPING AS PLAYMAKER

Over his last five games. DeMarr Langford Jr. has dished out 18 assists to four turnovers.
During that span, he is posting a 4.50:1 assist/turnover ratio, while averaging 9.4 points, 4.2 boards, and 3.6 dimes per outing.
At Miami, Langford Jr. registered six assists to one turnover in 35 minutes of play. He also had a season-high 20 points.
On Jan. 3 against Notre Dame, Langford Jr. registered a career-high eight assists to only one turnover in 36 minutes.
It is the highest single-game assist mark by a BC player since Makai Ashton-Langford had nine on Feb. 21, 2022 vs. FSU.
In ACC play, Langford Jr. ranks seventh in the league in assist/turnover ratio (2.40:1).
