BC Opens 2023 on Tuesday Night with Notre Dame

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. NOTRE DAME - ALL-TIME SERIES

Today's game marks the 41st meeting between the two schools. Boston College is 13-27 all-time vs. Notre Dame.
BC and ND have split their season series each of the last three years.
BC won, 73-57, in the first meeting at Conte Forum while ND escaped with a 99-95 overtime win at the Joyce Center.

Among all ACC players without a start, Devin McGlockton leads the league in scoring (8.1), rebounds (5.1), and steals (0.9).
On Dec. 21, McGlockton scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half to help lead BC over #20/21 Virginia Tech.
Six of those 13 second half points came during a key 8-0 run, helping BC build a nine-point lead with under 5:00 to play.
McGlockton is the only BC reserve - and one of only eight bench players in the ACC - to log a double-double this season.
The 6-7 redshirt freshman is playing his first season of college ball and has scored in double figures on six occasions.
BC is 5-3 when he grabs at least six rebounds and is 6-2 when he blocks at least one shot.
He is connecting on 60.0% of his shots from the floor - which would rank third in the ACC - if he met the FG/g minimum.McGlockton had career-highs in points (20) and rebounds (11) en route to his first career double-double at Nebraska.
Against Rhode Island, McGlockton scored the evental go-ahead basket with 1:07 remaining in the game.
He also sealed the victory with two free throws with eight seconds remaining; scoring six of his 11 points in the final 1:40.
Against Wyoming, McGlockton had 12 points (5-8 FG; 2-3 3FG), four rebounds, an assist, a steal, and three blocks.
The last player to post a similarly complete stat line - Steffon Mitchell against Duke (12p/5r/1a/1s/3b).
McGlockton is the first Boston College player in at least 26 years to post that stat line coming off the bench.
McGlockton leads Boston College in FG% (42-70, 60.0%), effective FG% (62.9%), and true shooting percentage (65.6%).

QUINTEN POST RETURNS TO LINEUP

Quinten Post made his 2022-23 debut at Syracuse on Dec. 31 after missing the first 13 games due to a foot injury.
The 7-footer came off the bench and tallied eight points, three boards, and two assists in 17 minutes of play.
A 2022 ACC All-Tournament pick, Post finished last season as one of the league's top big men, averaging 11.2 points, 5.5 boards, 1.0 blocks while shooting nearly 58% from the floor and 56% from the perimeter over the final 10 games.

BC has three players - Makai Ashton-Langford (7th, 1.6), Jaeden Zackery (t10th, 1.4) and T.J. Bickerstaff (t10th, 1.4) - rank among the top 10 in the ACC in steals.

ASHTON-LANGFORD RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF SETH GREENBERG'S PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Makai Ashton-Langford was recognized by ESPN's Seth Greenberg as one of his Players of the Week on Dec. 27.
The grad student posted season-highs in scoring (21) and rebounding (7) in a 70-65 overtime win over #20/21 Virginia Tech.
He tallied 13 of his 21 points in the second half - forcing OT with a driving layup with 32 seconds remaining in regulation.
With 36 seconds to play in overtime, Ashton-Langford the dagger 3-pointer, giving BC a five-point advantage
Ashton-Langford grabbed a season-best seven rebounds - six on the defensive glass, leading directly to six fast-break points.

THE ARTIST FORMALLY KNOWN AS PRINCE

Prince Aligbe saw a season-high 25 minutes of action at Syracuse, tallying 12 points and five boards, to go along with a steal.
The points and rebounds marked his second-highest single-game totals of the season.
Aligbe announced his presence with authority, connecting on the gamewinner in the opener vs. Cornell on Nov. 7
Aligbe led Boston College in scoring with 16 points, while also grabbing nine rebounds - narrowly missing a double-double.
The 6-7 four-star forward from Minneapolis scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half, including eight in the final 4:00 of play.
Aligbe became the first Boston College freshman in 11 years to lead the Eagles in scoring in his first career game.
On Nov. 14, 2011, newcomer Patrick Heckmann led BC in scoring (19 points) in the season lidlifter vs. New Hampshire.
After an injury early against Detroit Mercy, he missed the next six games before playing four minutes at Duke on Dec. 3.

LANGFORD JR. GETTING LEGS UNDER HIM

Over his last four games. DeMarr Langford Jr. is playing nearly 35 minutes per game for the Eagles.
He is averaging 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists during the span; BC has gone 2-2 in those games.
The junior scored a team and season-best 13 points vs. Villanova, making six FG, including his first 3-pointer of the year.
Langford Jr. had eight points - four of BC's 11 in the overtime period - to go with six boards in the win over Virginia Tech.

T.J. Bickerstaff has picked up where he left off last season - as one of the top rebounders in the ACC.
Bickerstaff ranks 12th in the ACC, averaging 6.9 rebounds per game during the 2022-23 season.
The 6-9 forward from Atlanta ranks fifth in the ACC on the offensive glass, averaging 2.7 OR/g.
He posted double digits in the rebounding column in each of the first three games this season and five times overall.
Last season, the 6-9 forward was eighth in the ACC (7.2 rpg); he ranked as the fifth-leading returning rebounder in the league.
Bickerstaff was one of 15 players nationally - two in the ACC (Bacot - UNC) to have multiple games with 17 rebounds or more.
Against UNC on Jan. 26, 14 of Bickerstaff's 17 rebounds came on the defensive glass.
The last BC player to grab at least 14 defensive boards in a game - Ky Bowman (16) - against Notre Dame on Jan. 12, 2019.
Bickerstaff registered four games with at least 15 rebounds in 2021-22 - tied for most in the ACC this season (Bacot).
