
Eagles Fall on the Road at #3 North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Boston College women's soccer team fell to third-ranked North Carolina, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at Dorrance Field.
The teams played evenly through the opening 45 minutes, with Sophia Lowenberg nearly putting the Eagles up with a header off a corner, but UNC was able to sneak a goal in in the final minute of the first half. The Tar Heels then converted a penalty kick and scored in the run of play to open up the second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 44' | After Wiebke Willebrandt saved an initial point-blank shot from Talia Dellaperuta, Kate Faasse as there off the right post to charge in and finish the loose ball.
- 47' | Tori Hansen converted a penalty kick, firing a shot midway up on the left side.
- 49' | Isabel Cox cut in towards the middle and then slipped a ball through back towards the left post for Avery Patterson to run on to and one-touch back across the goal. The ball bounced off the far post and in.
- North Carolina had the 17-4 lead in shots and the 7-3 lead in shots on goal.
- The Tar Heels had the slight 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
- Goalkeeper Wiebke Willebrandt finished with four saves for the Eagles.
