Eagles and Terriers Draw in Battle of Comm Ave

BOSTON – Despite a 7-0 advantage in shots on goal, Boston College played to a scoreless draw with Boston University in non-conference action on Tuesday night at Nickerson Field.
Boston College (2-2-3, 0-1-1 ACC) extended its unbeaten streak in the series against BU to nine games (7-0-2).
The Eagles applied heavy pressure during the second half, including a sequence which led to three consecutive corners. BC had a total of eight corners to BU's one.
Senior co-captain Amos Shapiro-Thompson paced the Eagles with six shots, half of which were on target.
Francesco Montali finished the night with seven saves for the Terriers (2-2-3) to preserve his clean sheet. Leon Musial made his second start of the season but was not forced to make a save.
Tuesday marked the 57th all-time meeting in the series, but it was the first scoreless draw between the schools since 1993.
The Eagles travel to face No. 7 Duke in ACC play on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
