Eagles Rally Back to Tie Louisville 1-1
September 16, 2022 | Men's Soccer
NEWTON, Mass. – After trailing 1-0 heading into halftime, Boston College fought back in a gritty contest to earn a 1-1 ACC draw against the Louisville Cardinals on Friday night at the Newton Soccer Complex.
BC (2-2-2, 0-1-1) put together a series of strong attacks early in a back-and-forth contest, but could not capitalize in the first half against a tough Cardinals defense.
In the 44th minute, Louisville (3-2-1, 0-1-1) broke the stalemate with a goal from Nico Diaz that ricocheted off the left post to give the Cardinals the lead heading into halftime.
The Eagles would continue fighting and found an equalizer on Nacho Dominguez's first goal of the season, which came off a centering header from early-season star Stefan Sigurdarson in the 65th minute.
Both teams had quality opportunities down the home stretch of the match, but neither were able to pull ahead to close out the game.
Brennan Klein finished the night with five saves in the BC net, including one in the final minute of regulation.
The Eagles are back in action next Tuesday night as they start a three-game road trip at Boston University at 6 p.m.
