Pike's Peak Hosts 73rd Annual Men's Hockey Awards Banquet

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's hockey program and the Pike's Peak Hockey Club announced the team's 2021-22 award winners at the 73rd annual postseason awards banquet in the Murray Room at the Yawkey Athletic Center.
Norman F. Dailey MVP Award: Jack McBain and Marc McLaughlin
The Norman F. Dailey Award is given to the team's most valuable player(s). Following his senior season, McBain was honored as a Second Team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA). Despite missing 14 games due to injury and his selection to Team Canada for the Olympics, McBain ranked fourth in Hockey East with a career-best 19 goals and led the league in points per game (1.37). McBain was tied for third in Hockey East in both game-winning goals (4) and power play goals (6). The forward more than tripled his previous career-high in goals (6) and put together a career-high seven-game goal scoring streak.
McLaughlin finished his four-year NCAA career with a plus-30 rating, including a plus-26 over his final two seasons. A two-year captain, McLaughlin ranked second in Hockey East and sixth nationally in goals per game this past season with a career-high and team-high 21 goals. He was 11th in the country with a team-high seven power play goals. After netting nine goals in the first 73 games of his career, McLaughlin exploded for 31 goals in his final 56 contests. The North Billerica native became BC's first 20-goal scorer since former captain and Norman F. Dailey Award winner David Cotton three seasons ago.
James E. Tiernan Most Improved Player Award: Jack St. Ivany and Marshall Warren

The James E. Tiernan Most Improved Player Award is named for the 1956 Beanpot MVP. St. Ivany set new career-high's in assists (20), points (24) and shots on goal (84) as a senior. He ranked seventh among Hockey East defensemen in points per game and registered at least one point in 19 of his 35 contests last season. St. Ivany picked up just 12 penalty minutes combined over the last two seasons at Boston College after transferring from Yale.Â
Warren set a new career-high in scoring this past season with 21 points, 10 more than both his freshman and sophomore totals. He scored six goals and added 15 assists to rank ninth among Hockey East defensemen in points per game. Warren, a sixth round pick of the Minnesota Wild in 2019, more than doubled his career-high in shots on goal with 106. He also led the Eagles with 41 blocked shots on the year.
John "Snooks" Kelley Memorial Award: Patrick Giles
The John "Snooks" Kelley Memorial Award is given to the individual who best typifies Boston College Hockey. Giles served as an assistant captain for the second straight season and posted career-high's in almost every major category. The forward ranked third on the team with 15 goals, which was tied for seventh in Hockey East and more than doubled the total from his first three seasons combined. He added seven assists for a career-best 22 points and fired 85 shots on net.

William J. Flynn Coaches Award: Casey Carreau
The William J. Flynn Coaches Award is decided upon by the Boston College coaching staff. Carreau skated in a career-high 36 games for the Eagles and posted career-high totals in goals (6), assists (6), points (12) and shots on goal (68). Five of his six goals came during Hockey East play, including his first career multi-goal game against UConn, and five of his six tallies were scored at Kelley Rink.
Bernie Burke Outstanding Freshman Award: Aidan Hreschuk
The Bernie Burke Outstanding Freshman Award is named in honor of the former BC goalie and longtime freshman coach. Hreschuk skated in 37 of the team's 38 games as a freshman on the blue line, finishing with eight points on a goal and seven assists. The Californian ranked fourth on the team with 34 blocked shots and scored his first career goal against Mercyhurst in the Ledyard Classic. He closed the year with a plus-9 rating, which was third on the squad.Â
