Four Advance to NCAA Championship East Preliminary Round

Mitchell to race in the 800m; Raftis in the 3K steeple; White and Oeser at 5,000m
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Four Boston College athletes - Katherine Mitchell, Kylee Raftis, Lauren White, and Anna Oeser - have qualified for the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary Round, held May 26-28 in Bloomington, Ind.
Mitchell will compete in the 800m and enters the East regional seeded 16th. Her best performance of the season came last weekend at the ACC Championship, clocking 2:04.09 en route to a second place finish in the event. The 800m prelims are on Thursday May 26 at 7:50 p.m. ET.
Raftis is seeded 40th in the 3,000m steeplechase, running a time of 10:20.83 at the Friar Invitational on April 8. She will race on Saturday, May 28 at 5:40 p.m. ET.
White and Oeser will compete in the 5,000m. White enters with the 14th-best time - 15:54.86, at the Virginia Challenge on April 22. Oeser is seeded 32nd, with a time of 16:06.32, also set at the Virginia Challenge. That race is set to start at 8:10 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 28.
