
Seven Eagles Earn All-ACC Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Boston College lacrosse team saw a total of seven Eagles earn All-ACC honors, as the conference office announced the all-conference teams on Tuesday.Â
Boston College tied with Syracuse and North Carolina for the most All-ACC selections, while the five first-team honorees for BC led the league. Earning all-first team honors were Charlotte North (Attack), Jenn Medjid (attack), Belle Smith (midfield), Courtney Taylor (defense) and Sydney Scales (defense). Hollie Schleicher made the all-second team and Mckenna Davis made the all-freshman team.
Charlotte North | First Team | Attack
- First-Team All-ACC for a second straight season.
- Leads the team with 68 goals, 94 points and 103 draw controls.Â
- Is first in the ACC and fourth in the country in goal scored, while she is third in the league and 10th in the nation in points.Â
- First among active career leaders with 334 goals and third with 402 career points.Â
- She is eight goals away from setting the mark for the most in NCAA history.Â
- Has won ACC Offensive Player of the Week five times this season and IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week once.Â
- Has scored at least five goals in seven games, including three contests of seven goals.Â
- North is third all-time in school history with 193 goals, seventh in points with 233 and second with 333 draw controls. Â
- Is one of the top 25 finalists for the 2022 Tewaaraton Award.Â
Jenn Medjid | First Team | Attack
- All-ACC for a second straight season and is on the first team for the first time in her career.Â
- She is second on the team with 55 goals and 72 points while she is third with 17 assists.
- Medjid is fifth in the conference in goals and 19th in the country.
- She is on an impressive streak of 46Â straight games of recording at least one point dating back to the 2019 season.
- Registered at least five points in nine contests, while producing 13 hat tricks, highlighted by a stretch of 10 consecutive games with at least three scores.Â
- Medjid is eighth all-time with 150 goals scored and is 12th with 195 points.Â
Belle Smith | First Team | Midfield
- Is first-team all-conference for a second straight season.Â
- Smith is third on the team in goals (36) and second with a career-high 21 assists.Â
- Her 59 points are third on the the team.Â
- She is second in the ACC in conference play in assists.Â
- Was the sixth-fastest player in school history to reach the 100-point mark.
- She has three games with at least five goals, while she has two games with at least eight points, highlighted by a career-high nine points against Duke.Â
- Is two of 25 finalists for the 2022 Tewaaraton award.Â
Courtney Taylor | First Team | Defense
- Taylor is second on the team with 66 draw controls, 19 caused turnovers and third with 25 ground balls.
- She is sixth in the league in caused turnovers per game at 1.27 and is seventh in draw controls per game (4.40).
- She was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week after posting six ground balls, four caused turnovers and four draw controls in a win over then-No. 13 Virginia.
- Taylor is second among active leaders with 164 ground balls and fourth with 104 caused turnovers.Â
Sydney Scales | First Team | Defense
- Scales is all-first team for the first time in her career after making the all-freshman squad last season.
- Leads the team with 36 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers, which are both career bests.
- Scales is fourth in the ACC in ground balls per game (2.25) and seventh in caused turnovers per game (1.25).Â
- Was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week after posting solid efforts against Denver and Yale.Â
Hollie Schleicher | Second Team | Defense
- All-ACC for a second straight season.
- Is fourth on the team with 23 ground balls, fifth with 14 caused turnovers and third with 65 draw controls
- She is 11th in the ACC in draw controls per game, while she is fourth during league action in caused turnovers per game at 1.38 and eighth in DC's per contest.
- Nine of her caused turnovers have come in the past five games while 10 ground balls have occurred over the same span.
- Was named a Midseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse.Â
Mckenna Davis | All-Freshman Team | Attack
- In her first season, Davis has 14 goals and six assists for 20 points.
- Is boasting a .767 shot on goal percentage with seven ground balls.
- The first-year Eagle has five scores over the past three contests
- She is the fourth freshman over the last two seasons to garner All-ACC Freshman honors.Â
- Turned in a career-high three points in three different games.Â
