April 12, 2022 | Lacrosse
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Boston College lacrosse team earned a convincing 17-1 win over Harvard on Tuesday evening at Jordan Field.Â
The Eagles improve to 13-1 and have now won 16 straight contests against non-conference opponents dating back to the 2020 season. Harvard is now 4-6 on the season.Â
Boston College's defense locked down Harvard for its fewest goals in a game since 1996 when it scored once against Maryland.Â
Sydney Scales posted a career-high five ground balls and tied a personal best with three caused turnovers. She was one of five players with multiple ground balls. Rachel Hall registered eight saves for a season-high .889 save percentage.Â
Twelve different players scored, with Jenn Medjid turning in five scores. Belle Smith was the other Eagle with multiple goals, as she scored twice and tallied one assist for three points.Â
All it took was a 5-0 first-quarter showing to put the game out of reach. Medjid scored two of the goals, while Kayla Martello, Caitlynn Mossman and Hunter Roman all contributed to the quick start.Â
BC stayed in front as it shut out the Crimson in the first half, 9-0. After scoring just twice in the third period, Boston College tacked on six goals to earn its fifth straight win in the series.Â
The Eagles return to action when it travels to Durham to face No. 7 Duke on Saturday at 1 p.m.Â
