Sophomore heads to Sunday's championship final with the fastest time of the day
BOSTON, Mass. — Steven Jackson set a new Boston College record in the mile on Saturday at the IC4A Championship.
Jackson clocked 4:01.98 in the preliminary rounds, advancing to Sunday's championship final. The sophomore opened in 62.81 seconds for 400m, 2:04.22 for the half-mile, and 3:05.27 for the 1,200m. Jackson kicked the final 400m in 56.73 seconds for the record, besting the previous mark of 4:02.26, set by Sean Sullivan in 2020. Erik Linden powered to a season-best 4:07.48, finishing in 18th place. Â
David Scherrer blazed a season-best 2:25.91 in the 1,000m. His time is second-fastest going into Sunday's final. Edward Tristine was 16th, in a time of 2:29.26.
A pair of Eagles clocked a pair of personal-bests in the 800m. Adriano Barilla clocked 1:52.12, finishing in 21st place, while Eddie Kelly finished in 35th place in a PR of 1:53.41.
The quartet of Max McQuide, Jackson Sigalove, John Wacker, and Adriano Barilla ran a season-best 3:19.18.
