Eagles Roll Past Yale

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College lacrosse team dominated Yale in a 21-9 win on Sunday afternoon at Fish Field House.Â
The Eagles are 8-0 to the season, while Yale falls to 4-1. BC has outscored its opponents, 61-24, this season at home.Â
Nine Eagles scored in the triumph, while three earned hat tricks. Charlotte North tied a season-high with seven goals. Jenn Medjid tallied three goals and an assist, while Mckenna Davis recorded her first collegiate hat trick with three scores.Â
Two goals by North in the opening 2:32 of the game gave BC the lead for good. Yale answered with a score to cut the lead to 2-1. However, the hosts went on an 8-1 surge over the final 6:39 of the quarter to take a 10-2 lead.Â
Three players scored in the opening minutes of the second period to stretch the lead to double digits. North's goal followed by a Yale score gave BC a 15-4 lead going into halftime.Â
The scoring didn't stop there, as BC upped its lead to 14 midway through the third period. Davis' goal in the fourth gave the Eagles their fourth game of the season with at least 20 goals.Â
Rachel Hall earned the win between the posts, stopping six shots in the process. She played the first half while Emily English and Maddy Manahan played in the second half.Â
BC has won 36 straight home games dating back to 2017 and 37 when holding an opponent to fewer than 10 goals. Julia Barry led the team with three ground balls, while five players had at least one caused turnover.Â
BC earned its seventh straight victory in the series against the Bulldogs.Â
The Eagles will now wait until next Sunday for their showdown against North Carolina at 2 p.m.Â
