BC and Northeastern Clash Monday Night in 69th Beanpot

BOSTON – After the 2021 tournament was canceled due to COVID-19, Boston College opens up the 69th Beanpot against three-time defending champion Northeastern on Monday night at 8 p.m. at TD Garden on NESN. Radio coverage begins at 7:45 p.m. on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.com. Boston University and Harvard begin the tournament at 5 p.m.
SETTING THE SCENE
• Boston College is looking to hoist its first Beanpot trophy since 2016 and its 21st overall
• BC enters the matchup at 10-13-4 overall and 5-9-3 in Hockey East play, while the Huskies come in at 17-8-1 (9-6-1 HEA) after beating Vermont 5-4 on Friday
• The Eagles reached the Championship Game for the 36th time in 2019 but fell to Northeastern 4-2
• The teams are meeting for the 48th time in the Beanpot with BC holding a 34-13 advantage

• BC has won the Beanpot 20 times with 16 runner-up, 24 third-place, and only eight last-place finishes
