Gallagher Breaks 46-Year Old School Record in 800m

BOSTON, Mass. — Denis Gallagher broke a 46-year old school record, running the first-ever sub-1:50 indoor 800m in Boston College history today at the David Hemery Valentine Invite.

Gallagher's 1:49.53 performance bested the previous record, held by Keith Francis and set back in 1975. Eddie Kelly logged a PR in the 800m (1:53.78), while Adriano Barilla ran 1:54.35.

In the 400m, Marcus Manson ran a season-best in the 400m, crossing the finish line in 48.56 seconds - the fifth-fastest time in BC history. Max Mcquide (49.57) and Taylor Henry (50.81) also posted personal bests in the 400m.

Jalon Williams placed seventh in the 60m dash clocking 6.97 seconds.

A trio of BC milers ran well, led by Steven Jackson's 4:04.09, followed by teammates Erik Linden (4:13.13) and Edward Tristine (4:14.38) .
