BOSTON COLLEGE VS. SYRACUSE - ALL-TIME SERIES

Today's game marks the 82nd meeting between the two schools. Boston College is 26-55 all-time vs. Syracuse.
This is the first of two regular season meetings versus the Orange. Syracuse is Boston College's fourth-most common opponent.
BC has lost its last eight - and 10 of its last 11 - against the Cuse.

Makai Ashton-Langford was recognized by ESPN's Seth Greenberg as one of his Players of the Week.
The grad student posted season-highs in scoring (21) and rebounding (7) in a 70-65 overtime win over #20/21 Virginia Tech.
He tallied 13 of his 21 points in the second half - forcing OT with a driving layup with 32 seconds remaining in regulation.
With 36 seconds to play in overtime, Ashton-Langford the dagger 3-pointer, giving BC a five-point advantage
Ashton-Langford grabbed a season-best seven rebounds - six on the defensive glass.
BC scored six fast-break points directly off Ashton-Langford's rebounds.

McGLOCKTON EARLY LEADER FOR ACC SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR

Among all ACC players without a start, Devin McGlockton leads the league in scoring (8.1) and rebounding (5.2).
Last time out, McGlockton scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half to help lead BC over #20/21 Virginia Tech.
Six of those 13 second half points came during a key 8-0 run, helping BC build a nine-point lead with under 5:00 to play.
McGlockton is the only BC reserve - and one of only eight bench players in the ACC - to log a double-double this season.
The 6-7 redshirt freshman is playing his first season of college ball and has scored in double figures on six occasions.
BC is 5-3 when he grabs at least six rebounds and is 6-2 when he blocks at least one shot.
He is connecting on 60.6% of his shots from the floor - which would rank third in the ACC - if he met the FG/g minimum.

One game after a season-low for offensive rebounds (2) vs. Stonehill, Boston College tied its season-high vs. Virginia Tech (17).

LANGFORD JR. GETTING LEGS UNDER HIM

Over his last three games. DeMarr Langford Jr. is playing nearly 37 minutes per game for the Eagles.
He is averaging 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists during the span; BC has gone 2-1 in those games.
The junior scored a team and season-best 13 points vs. Villanova, making six FG, including his first 3-pointer of the year.
Langford Jr. had eight points - four of BC's 11 in the overtime period - to go with six boards in the win over Virginia Tech.

Devin McGlockton has made an impact off the bench over the last eight games for Boston College.
During that span, the redshirt freshman is averaging nearly 11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.0 blocked shots.
He is also connecting on 60.4% of his shots (32-53), including 3-of-5 3FG and 20-of-27 FT during the span.

Jaeden Zackery has scored a season-high 16 points three times - all wins (Wyoming, Rhode Island, Stonehill).
Prior to the 16-point game vs. Wyoming, he had tallied 11 points in his previous two games - including a season-low four points against Tarleton State, going without a field goal for the first time in his career to that point (39 games).
Against Wyoming (8-8) and Rhody (7-8), he went to the free throw line 16 times, connecting on 15.
When Zackery goes to the free throw line at least five times, Boston College is 3-1 in 2022-23 and 6-2 all-time.
The sophomore guard has been the high scorer on four occasions and ranks second in scoring (10.9) through 13 games.

CJ PENHA JR. - CERTIFIED BUCKET GETTER

CJ Penha Jr. has reached double digits in the scoring column in six of his 13 games this season.
The grad transfer scored a game-high 16 points on Dec. 3 at Duke, making 7-of-13 shots from the floor in 33 minutes.
He ranks third on the Eagles in scoring (9.9 ppg), ranks second in FG% (52.0%), and is tops in 3FG% (34.1%).
On Dec. 13, Penha Jr. added 15 points in 23 minutes off the bench against Stonehill.
In the 2022-23 opener, Penha Jr. came off the bench to score 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting (2-4 3FG) against Cornell.
He added 13 points at Nebraska and had 12 points in two games at the Paradise Jam - George Mason and Tarleton State.
Penha Jr. leads BC in field goals made (53) and ranks second on the Eagles in 3-pointers made (14).
The grad transfer compiled nearly 1,600 points at Taylor University (NAIA) and Trevecca Nazarene (DII), including 155 3FG's.
During his 100 games played at both Taylor and Trevecca, Penha Jr. scored 20 or more points on 35 occasions.

MADSEN FROM DEEP

Mason Madsen connected on three 3-pointers against Villanova in the Never Forget Tribute Classic.
It was the second game this season - and ninth career game - in which Madsen made at least three trifectas.
He leads the Eagles in 3-pointers made this season, with 15.

ZACKERY'S 3-POINT EFFICIENCY

Dating back to last season, Jaeden Zackery ranks 31st nationally among all active players in 3-point field goal percentage.
Zackery has connected on 43.0% of his long-distance shots, making 64-of-150 from beyond the arc (46 games).

Last season, the 6-9 forward was eighth in the ACC (7.2 rpg); he ranked as the fifth-leading returning rebounder in the league.
Bickerstaff was one of 15 players nationally - two in the ACC (Bacot - UNC) to have multiple games with 17 rebounds or more.
Against UNC on Jan. 26, 14 of Bickerstaff's 17 rebounds came on the defensive glass.
The last BC player to grab at least 14 defensive boards in a game - Ky Bowman (16) - against Notre Dame on Jan. 12, 2019.
