Eagles will face Wyoming in third place game Monday night
ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands (AP)Â -- CJ Penha Jr. scored 12 points and Mason Madsen added 10 in a 79-54 loss to Tarleton State on Sunday night in the semifinals of the Paradise Jam.
Penha Jr. hit a jumper that gave Boston College a 5-2 lead with 17:36 left in the the first half but the Eagles went scoreless for the next 6-plus minutes as Tarleton scored 12 consecutive points to take the lead for good.
Boston College shot just 37% (7 of 19) in the first half and finished with a season-high 20 turnovers, yielding 26 points to Tarleton in the loss. Leading scorer Makai Ashton-Langford was held to a season-low five points in 22 foul-marred minutes. The game saw nearly 50 fouls called and 51 free throws attempted.
The Eagles will face Wyoming on Monday night in the third place game of the tournament. Tipoff is set for 5:45 p.m. ET and the game will be streamed live on ESPN3.
