Eagles and Warriors Prepare for Home-and-Home Series

Boston College has won seven of the last eight meetings overall with Merrimack
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College opens a home-and-home series in Hockey East play against Merrimack on Thursday night at Lawler Rink at 7 p.m. The schools close the series on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. on the Heights. Both games will air live on ESPN+ and WEEI 850 AM.
SETTING THE SCENE
• Boston College (2-2-1, 2-1-0 HEA) has won its last three visits to North Andover, including a 4-1 win last season
• The Eagles had a three-game unbeaten run snapped with a 5-1 defeat to No. 10 UConn at the XL Center last Thursday, a game which was tied 1-1 through two periods of play
• The Warriors are 4-3-0 overall and 2-1-0 in league play following an overtime win and overtime loss against UMass in a home-and-home last weekend
LAST TIME OUT
• No. 10 UConn scored early in the third to snap a 1-1 deadlock and extended the lead late for a 5-1 Hockey East victory last Thursday night in Hartford
• Colby Ambrosio netted his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the second period from Lukas Gustafsson and Nikita Nesterenko to give BC a 1-0 lead
• UConn killed off a 5-on-3 later in the period and Harrison Rees stepped out of the box to beat Mitch Benson through the pads on a breakaway to tie the game
• Hudson Schandor had the eventual game-winner for the Huskies at 1:14 of the third
