BC Gets Set To Host Beanpot

Eagles will compete against Brandeis, MIT and Harvard in second meet of the season
Chestnut Hill, Mass – The Boston College Fencing Team will host The Beanpot on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. They will take on Harvard, MIT and Brandeis in both Men's and Women's competitions.Â
The Eagles So Far...Â
BC's first meet of the season was last month on October 29th and 30th where they traveled to Philadelphia for the Temple Open. There were three main events on each day of the meet along with consolation matches for each event as well, on Saturday the 29th there was the Women's Foil, Women's Epee, and Women's Sabre and on Sunday the 30th there was the Men's Epee, Men's Foil and Men's Sabre. Sophomore Levi Hughes finished 2nd in Men's Epee, losing 15-13 in the final to Mohamed Elsayed from LIU Post who finished 8th in the Olympic Games in 2021. Inigo Rivera finished tied for third in Men's Sabre. Both Daniel Gaidar and Katarina Hone made the top 8 in Men's Epee and Women's Sabre respectively.Â
Head Coach Brendan Doris-Pierce on his team's outlook for Wednesday:Â
"I am very excited to host the Beanpot. Our athletes have been working exceptionally hard since our success at the Temple Open. They've continued to gel as a team since then and they're ready to leave it all on the strip tomorrow!"Â

BC will head over to Brandeis for the first of two Northeast Fencing Conferences on Nov. 19th where they will compete against UMass, Smith, Sacred Heart, New Hampshire, Wellesley and Boston University.Â
