Matt Boldy to Make NHL Debut in Boston for Minnesota Wild

BOSTON – Former Boston College forward Matt Boldy will make his National Hockey League debut tonight for the Minnesota Wild at TD Garden against the Boston Bruins at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
Boldy will become the 82nd former Eagle all-time to skate in the NHL. He is the fourth member of his recruiting class to reach the NHL, joining goaltender Spencer Knight (Florida) and forwards Mike Hardman (Chicago) and Alex Newhook (Colorado).
A native of Millis, Massachusetts, Boldy played two years on the Heights and earned Division I First Team All-America honors as a sophomore last season. He was a Hockey East First Team All-Star and a Top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.
Boldy was second in the Hockey East scoring race during the regular season and ranked third nationally in points per game with 11 goals and 20 assists in 22 contests. He also won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championships.
As a freshman, Boldy posted nine goals and 17 assists for 26 points with a plus-16 rating and was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team.
He was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the first round (12th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft.
