September 06, 2021 | Men's Soccer
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College shut out Hartford 1-0 on Monday night at the Newton Soccer Complex to remain unbeaten on its four-match home stand.
BC held nearly two third's of the possession and improved to 2-1-0 on the year, while the Hawks dropped to 0-3-1.
Christian Garner stopped the only two Hartford shots he faced for his first shutout of the season and sixth of his career.
The Eagles wasted no time and opened the scoring through Michael Suski in the eighth minute. Suski brought down a long, aerial pass from freshman Diego Ochoa and buried a shot into the upper left corner from the top of the 18-yard box.
The goal was Suski's second in three games to begin his junior season, while Ochoa collected his first career point on the assist.
BC fired 18 shots toward the Hartford goal, including seven on target, while the Hawks managed just six attempts all night. Kristofer Konradsson led the team with five shot attempts, while Stefan Sigurdarson and Suski each had four.
Boston College opens the ACC schedule on Friday night (Sept. 10) under the lights at 7 p.m. in Newton against Notre Dame on ACC Network Extra.
