Eagles, Wolfpack Battle to Stalemate
April 09, 2021 | Men's Soccer
NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 double overtime tie with NC State on Friday afternoon at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
The Eagles end their spring season at 1-3-1 overall.
After a slow first half that saw the majority of the possession by both teams take place in the neutral third of the field, the teams began to create some chances in the second half. Stefan Sigurdarson's diving header on Kristofer Konradsson's curling free kick nearly put the Eagles up 1-0 in the 50th minute, but the headed ball went inches wide of the right post.
The physical match headed to overtime, with neither team able to find the back of the net in either 10-minute frame.
