BC scored in the first and in five of the first six innings of the game; building a 10-1 lead after the fifth and 13-1 lead after the sixth. Junior right-hander Joe Mancini (Fairfield, Conn.) started and went two innings with one run against on four this and two walks with two strikeouts. His second strikeout came to strand the bases loaded in the second.

Freshman left-hander Joe Vetrano (Shrub Oak, N.Y.) took over in the third before the Eagles regained the lead with a two-run home half. He pitched three-shutout innings of one-run ball with three strikeouts to just one walk.

The Boston College lineup was powered by three-hit games from sophomore catcher Parker Landwehr (Baltimore, Md.) and junior designated hitter Cody Morissette (Exeter, N.H.). Landwehr doubled, hammered a three-run homer and totaled four RBI and three runs. Morissette doubled and drove in three runs.

Holy Cross shortstop Thomas Latham went 3-for-5 with a run and a RBI out of the leadoff spot. Lefty Jake McCosker (0-1) took the loss in three innings of relief; entering in the bottom of the first. He allowed five runs, three earned, on six hits and a walk.
