No. 10 Eagles Close Non-Conference Schedule at Providence

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 10 Boston College field hockey team closes its non-conference schedule on the road at Providence on Wednesday, April 14 at 3 p.m.
 
Scouting the Eagles
BC enters with a 7-5 record and is 2-2 in the ACC. This spring, BC is 7-2, with losses to Wake Forest and Virginia. The Eagles have notable wins against then-No. 2 Louisville and then-No. 8 Syracuse. Margo Carlin (6G, 7A) and Elizabeth Warner (8G, 2A) lead the BC offense with 19 and 18 points, respectively.
 
In goal, Jonna Kennedy will most likely earn the start. She has a 5-5 record this year with a 2.01 goals against average and .792 save percentage. Her save percentage currently leads the ACC and also leads the conference with 7.60 saves per game.
 
Scouting the Friars
Providence enters with a 2-6 record and wins over Temple and Quinnipiac. They have scored five goals all spring and are led by Niamh Gowing, who has two goals and one assist. Asia Porter has started the Friars' last two games, amassing a 1-2 record, 1.31 goals against average and .500 save percentage.
 
Last Time Out
BC took on then-No. 8 Syracuse in Newton, coming away with a 2-1 2OT win over the Orange. Margo Carlin scored a goal, while Elizabeth Warner had a goal and an assist. In goal, Jonna Kennedy played all 73 minutes, making 21 saves to earn the win.
 
Kennedy Honors
Goalkeeper Jonna Kennedy had one of the best performances in program-history in goal, making 21 saves to lead BC to an overtime win over Syracuse. The save count was the third-most in a single game in BC history. She went 2-0 last week with wins over Syracuse and UMass, including a shutout against the Minutewomen. Her efforts earned her ACC Defensive Player of the Week.

BC is back in action on Saturday, April 14 for senior day against Duke to close out the regular season.
