Top-Ranked Tigers Outlast Eagles, 3-2

NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team went toe-to-toe with top-ranked Clemson on Saturday afternoon at the Newton Campus Soccer Field, but the Tigers scored twice in the second half to secure a 3-2 victory.
The teams traded penalty kick conversions in the first 20 minutes of the game, and then Stefan Sigurdarson gave BC it's second lead of the game in the 51st minute. The Tigers, though, would even the score at 2-2 four minutes later and then net the winner in the 80th minute.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 12' | From the penalty spot, Kristofer Konradsson beat the goalkeeper with a mid-range shot to the left post.
- 17' | James Brighton stepped up to the penalty spot and converted, beating Garner low on the right side of the frame.
- 51' | Stefan Sigurdarson ran onto a ball over the top, chipped it between two defenders and then hit a right footed shot to the top corner on the right side of the net.
- 55' | On a corner kick, Quinn McNeill ran towards the near post and was able to flick the ball with his head back towards the goal and in.
- 80' | Callum Johnson carried the ball into the box and struck a shot to the far post for the final goal of the game.
- Clemson had the 23-11 lead in shots and the 8-4 edge in shots on goal.
- Louisville earned nine corners to five for BC.
- Christian Garner finished with five saves for the Eagles … George Marks made one for the Tigers.
- This marked the 20th all-time meeting between Clemson and Boston College … the Eagles now hold a mark of 4-11-5 in the series with a mark of 4-2-3 at home.
- Stefan Sigurdarson recorded his second goal of the season … he now has seven points on two goals and three assists.
- Kristofer Konradsson's penalty kick conversion gave him a team-leading three goals on the year … he has seven points on three goals and one assist.

- The Eagles will travel to Syracuse on Sunday, April 4 for a 2 p.m. matchup with the Orange.
