
Eagles Top Cardinals Behind Suski Brace

NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team topped Louisville, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
Michael Suski had a first-half brace and Stefan Sigurdarson picked up three assists while Christian Garner made five saves for the shutout.
Suski scored what would be the game-winning goal in the sixth minute and then added his second of the game in the 20th. Jorge Dickens put home his first career goal midway through the second half and then Kristofer Konradsson finished off the scoring with an 83rd minute goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 6' | Stefan Sigurdarson got the ball at the top of the box and worked to turn on the defenders covering him. Once he opened up, he slid a pass to the left to Suski who fired a shot back across the box to the far post.
- 20' | Amos Shapiro-Thompson carried the ball down the middle of the field and slipped a short pass to Suski. Suski took one touch to the outside and then placed his shot under the crossbar.
- 70' | Sigurdarson dribbled the ball through the box and was able to get off a left-footed shot that Detre Bell made a save on. The rebound fell to the left post where Dickens immediately slotted it home.
- 82' | Carrying the ball up the left flank, Sigurdarson was able to hit Konradsson with a pass as he entered the box. Konradsson deftly placed his shot between the goalkeeper and the post
- Boston College had the 20-12 lead in shots and the 7-5 edge in shots on goal.
- Louisville earned eight corners to six for BC.
- Christian Garner finished with five saves for the Eagles to earn his fifth career shutout … Detre Bell made three saves for the Cardinals.
- This marked the first time that BC has defeated Louisville … the Eagles now hold an all-time record of 1-5-1 in the all-time series with Louisville.
- This marked the first official win for Bob Thompson as head coach of the Eagles.
- Michael Suski recorded the first multi-goal game of his career.
- Stefan Sigurdarson registered a career-high three assists … it was the second multi-assist game of his career.
- Jorge Dickens recorded his first career point with his second half goal.

- The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, March 27 with a 1 p.m. home game against Clemson.
