Panthers Hold Off Eagles on Saturday Night

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Boston College men's soccer team fell on the road, 1-0, at No. 8 Pitt on Saturday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
The Panthers scored in the third minute for the early 1-0 lead but the Eagles buckled down and prevented the hosts from finding another. Christian Garner made five first-half saves to keep it a one-goal game at the break.
The Eagles kept pushing for the equalizer, with Kristofer Konradsson getting BC's best chance of the night with under three minutes to play, but Pitt held on for the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 3' | Jasper Loeffelsend carried the ball down the right flank and drifted slightly in to the box. As he hit the edge, he slotted a ball back towards the top and Veljko Petkovic took one touch with it and fired a shot to the far post.
- Pitt had the 13-9 lead in shots and an 8-4 lead in shots on goal.
- The teams were equal in corners at five each.
- Christian Garner finished with seven saves for the Eagles while Nico Campuzano had four for the Panthers.
- Kristofer Konradsson led the Eagles on the night with five shots, including two shots on goal …Michael Suski had two shots, landing one on frame … Stefan Sigurdarson had BC's other shot on goal.
- The Eagles now hold an all-time record of 13-6-2 in the series with Pitt.
