
Boston College Cruises to 8-0 Win over Bryant

Season-high eight runs and nine hits for the Eagles
BRIGHTON, Mass. – Senior pitcher CC Cook tossed four no-hit innings and fanned four as Boston College opened its 2021 home schedule with a dominant 8-0 victory over Bryant in six innings Wednesday at Harrington Athletics Village.

Cook was in total control and allowed just a walk to pick up her first win of the season. The victory moved BC to 3-7 overall while Bryant dropped to 0-1.

The Eagles opened the scoring in the second on a RBI single from Kristin Giery.

BC added two runs on one swing in the third when AJ Alatorre blasted a two-run home run to left field to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead. The home run was Alatorre's first of the season and third of her career.

The Eagles added another run in the fourth on a RBI single from Jules Trevino to push the lead to 4-0.

A four-run sixth inning ended the game after six innings for Boston College. Ellie Mataya capped off a three-hit day with a two-run double to center and Djhane Valido ended the game with a two-run single to left field to secure the 8-0 victory for the Eagles.

Boston College finished with season-highs in runs (8) and hits (9).

The Eagles return to action on Friday at Harrington Athletics Village versus UMass. The game, originally scheduled for Saturday, was moved up a day due to the weather.
