No. 14 Eagles Set to Face Merrimack in Home-and-Home Series

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No. 14/15 Boston College faces off against Merrimack in a home-and-home series this weekend. The Eagles and Warriors clash on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Lawler Rink before meeting again at Kelley Rink on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. Both games will be streamed live for free on SportsLive, and radio coverage begins 15 minutes before faceoff on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.com.
STREAKIN'
• Jack McBain is riding a career-high eight-game point streak to begin his senior season
• McBain was named the Hockey East Player of the Week on Monday and the Hockey East Player of the Month for October on Wednesday
• McBain leads Hockey East and ranks eighth nationally with 14 points through eight games
• He ranks second in the league with 29 shots on goal and is tied for the most power play goals (3)
• The Toronto native has multiple points in five of his eight outings this season
NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP
• Sophomores Eamon Powell and Colby Ambrosio assisted on classmate Trevor Kuntar's late game-winning goal last Saturday in the third period in Vermont
• Trevor Kuntar had a career-best five-game point streak (1-4-5) snapped last Friday but has a point in six of his eight games this season
• Ambrosio has a 3-3-6 scoring line this season with points in five of eight games
• Powell posted his first two assists of the season last weekend at UVM
• Ambrosio (+5) and Kuntar (+4) both rank top-20 in Hockey East in plus-minus
POINTS FROM THE BLUE LINE
• Boston College has three of the top four scoring defensemen in Hockey East this season
• Drew Helleson (1-6-7) and Jack St. Ivany (1-6-7) are tied for first with seven points each, while Marshall Warren (3-3-6) is tied for third with six points
• Warren leads all league defensemen in shots on goal (26) and is tied for the lead in goals (3)
• St. Ivany is second overall in Hockey East with a +9 rating
• He and Helleson both have posted a three-point game over the last two weekends

• Coming off a career-high 24 point season, Marc McLaughlin has started his senior year with five goals in his first eight games to rank third in Hockey East with McBain

• Alaska transfer Max Newton leads the team with nine points on four goals and five assists
• Juniors Declan Carlile and Ben Brar have each added seven points through eight games
