Friars, Eagles to Meet for Home-and-Home Series

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The seventh-ranked Boston College women's hockey team will return to Hockey East play this weekend with a home-and-home series against Providence College. Friday's 2 p.m. tilt will take place at Schneider Arena while Saturday's 8 p.m. puck drop will be at Kelley Rink.

All games this season will be made available across the U.S. and internationally on SportsLive, while all games televised on NESN and NESN+ and other select matchups will also be made available on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports app outside of New England.

WHAT'S ON TAP
• Boston College and Providence are set to play a home-and-home series this weekend, facing off at Schneider Arena on Friday afternoon before an evening tilt at Kelley Rink on Saturday.
• BC is coming off of a Tuesday night loss at No. 10 Harvard, while Providence had a loss and a tie against No. 4 Northeastern this past weekend.

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE
• The Eagles have opened up the 2021-22 campaign with a mark of 6-3-0 overall and 4-2-0 in Hockey East play.
• BC played on Tuesday night, falling at tenth-ranked Harvard, 5-2 ... it was the third consecutive loss for the Eagles after dropping two games to Northeastern (Oct. 29-30).
• Hannah Bilka leads the team in points and assists (4-5-9) while Abby Newhook is second with eight points on a team-leading five goals and three assists.
• Abigail Levy is 6-3-0 in goal with a .939 save percentage and 2.22 goals against average ... Levy has made at least 30 saves in eight out of nine games.
• Katie Crowley, the Jane Rattigan Head Women's Hockey Coach, is in her 15th season at the helm of the Eagles.

ABOUT PROVIDENCE
• Providence enters the weekend at 3-3-3 overall and 2-2-1 in Hockey East play.
• Lindsay Bochna leads the Friars with six points on three goals and three assists while Hayley Lunny (3-2-5), Brooke Becker (2-3-5) and Claire Tyo (1-4-5) have chipped in three points each.
• Between the pipes, Sandra Abstreiter has started eight of nine contests, going 2-3-3- with a 1.70 goals against average, .944 save percentage and one shutout.
• The Friars have picked up wins over New Hampshire (3-1), Northeastern (3-0) and Union (2-1) while falling to RPI (2-0), Boston University (2-1) and Northeastern (5-1) and tying Quinnipiac (2-2 and 1-1) and Northeastern (2-0).
• Providence is converting on power-play opportunities at a 21.7 percent clip, second best in Hockey East.

• Boston College is 39-40-3 all-time against Providence since elevating to Division I status for the 1995-96 season.

• Harvard struck with one second left in the first period and then after Abby Newhook equalized early in the second, responded with two more ... Alexie Guay's first of the year in the final second of the second pulled BC back in, but Harvard scored twice more in the third for the 5-2 win.
• Gaby Roy tallied two assists for BC for the first multi-assist game of her career ... Deirdre Mullowney assisted on Newhook's goal for her first point of the year.
• Newhook added an assist for her third multi-point game of the season.
• Abbey Levy made 35 saves in the loss ... it was the eighth time this season that Levy has made at least 30 saves in a game.
