Eagles Fall to No. 2 Cavaliers

The second-ranked Cavaliers topped the Eagles, 3-0.
NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College women's soccer team fell to No. 2 Virginia, 3-0, on Thursday night at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
Despite an even first half, the Cavaliers entered the first break up 1-0 after a penalty kick conversion in the 33rd minute. Second-ranked Virginia went on to add two goals off of corner kicks in the second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 33' | Diana Ordonez converted her penalty kick, placing it inside the post past an outstretched Wiebke Willebrandt.
- 57' | Lia Godfrey sent in a corner kick towards the far post, and Haley Hopkins header attempt fell to the feet of Alex Spaanstra for a one-touch shot.
- 60' | Running towards the near post, Spaanstra headed Godfrey's corner kick under the crossbar.
- Boston College is now 8-11-2 in the all-time series with Virginia with a mark of 4-5-0 at home.
- The Cavaliers had a 12-7 lead in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
- Haley Thomas and Michela Agresti went the full 90 minutes for BC … this marked the 10th time this season that Thomas went at least 90 minutes and the ninth for Agresti.
- Goalkeeper Wiebke Willebrandt finished with three saves for the Eagles.
