Junior center Alec Lindstrom to host weekly podcast on BC Football
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Football will debut a new weekly podcast beginning in August with junior center Alec Lindstrom as the show's host. The podcast titled "Listen Up My Dudes" will be available via The Perch on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher and on the school's official athletics website, www.BCEagles.com.
Lindstrom, who is also an avid food reviewer on Instagram (@RicsReviews), enters his second year as the starting center for the Eagles in 2020. Lindstrom was named All-ACC third-team center following his sophomore season in 2019. In his first year as a starter, Lindstrom was a vital part of a BC offensive line that finished the regular season fourth nationally in sacks allowed (0.92 per game) and seventh nationally in rushing offense (267.8 yards per game).
He played over 900 snaps at center, missing only one snap during the regular season when the starters were in the game.
Each week Lindstrom will interview his teammates, coaches and former players to give fans the unique perspective of a student-athlete inside the program.
"Listen Up My Dudes" first guest will be Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley.
Hafley was introduced as The Gregory P. Barber '69 and Family Head Coach of the Boston College football program on Dec. 14, 2019.
Hafley led a dramatic turnaround in leading the defense for Ohio State as the Buckeyes won the 2019 Big Ten championship and qualified for the College Football Playoff.
A finalist for the Frank Broyles Award and the 247Sports Defensive Coordinator of the Year, Hafley was one of the architects of a Buckeye defense that ranks first nationally in yards per play (3.9), second nationally in total defense (247.6 yards per game), third nationally in scoring defense (12.5 points per game), third nationally in sacks (3.92 per game), seventh nationally in rushing defense (99.5 yards per game), second nationally in passing yards allowed (148.1 yards per game) and first nationally in red zone defense (64.2%).
Hafley's first season in Columbus saw Ohio State jump from 72nd nationally in 2018 to first nationally in 2019 in yards per play.
A standout defensive backs coach throughout his career in the NFL and collegiate ranks, Hafley's work as the defensive backs coach at Ohio State has led to impressive results. The Buckeyes totaled 15 interceptions in 2019, tied for ninth nationally, while allowing just 25 pass plays of 20+ yards.
Before arriving at Ohio State, Hafley spent the previous seven seasons in the NFL and most recently three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers as defensive backs coach.
