No. 4 Eagles Edge New Hampshire 2-1 on Senior Night

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Fourth-ranked Boston College pushed its winning streak to eight with a 2-1 Hockey East victory over New Hampshire Friday on Senior Night at Kelley Rink.
The Eagles improved to 24-8-1 overall and 17-6-0 in Hockey East, while the Wildcats dropped to 15-15-3 (9-12-2 HEA) with one game remaining.
The rookie class led the way for BC as Spencer Knight turned aside 23 of the 24 Wildcat shots he faced to extend his personal winning streak to eight.
Marshall Warren became just the second freshman defenseman in Hockey East this season to score at least six goals, while classmate Mike Hardman collected his 11th of the season in the victory.
Alex Newhook prolonged his point streak to 11 games with an assist on Hardman's goal less than a minute into the game.
Seniors Jesper Mattila and Graham McPhee collected secondary assists for the Eagles.
Angus Crookshank netted the lone UNH goal four minutes into the third period, but Knight shut the door down the stretch for his 23rd win of the year.

0:59, BC Goal (1-0) • Newhook stick-handled through neutral ice with speed and turned a pass into the low slot for Hardman, who quickly fired a shot low glove side on Mike Robinson.
5:14, BC Goal (2-0) • Aapeli Räsänen whipped the puck cross-ice to the weak side and Warren stepped into a heavy drive from the left faceoff dot that beat Robinson five-hole.
3rd Period
4:02, UNH Goal (2-1) • From just outside the right post, Anthony Wyse muscled the puck to the left doorstep and Crookshank spun a shot past a sprawling Knight.

The teams conclude their home-and-home series in the regular season finale on Saturday (March 7) at 7 p.m. in Durham at the Whittemore Center on CBS All-Access. The Wildcats need a win and some help to secure the eighth and final Hockey East playoff spot.
