No. 4 Eagles to Honor Class of 2020 on Senior Night Against UNH

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No. 4 Boston College hosts New Hampshire on Senior Night at Kelley Rink on Friday (March 6) at 7 p.m. to open a home-and-home series. The regular season concludes on Saturday (March 7) at the Whittemore Center in Durham at 7 p.m. Both games will air live on CBS All-Access with radio coverage on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.com.Â
SETTING THE SCENE
• BC clinched its 17th Hockey East Regular Season Championship outright last Saturday at Boston University
• UNH enters the weekend in ninth place, one point behind Northeastern for the eighth and final playoff spot
• BC has won seven straight games, the second-longest winning streak in the nation behind Cornell (9)
• The Eagles are tied for fourth in the Pairwise rankings with Minnesota Duluth and Denver
CLASS OF 2020
• Prior to the game on Friday, Boston College will honor its 10 seniors in the Class of 2020
• The class is comprised of forwards David Cotton, Ron Greco, Julius Mattila, Mike Merulla, Graham McPhee and Zach Walker, and defensemen Ben Finkelstein, Jesper Mattila, Luke McInnis and Connor Moore
• The senior class has helped lead the program to three Hockey East Regular Season Titles in its four years with nearly 80 total victories to this point
CLINCHER AT AGGANIS
• BC defeated rival Boston University 4-1 in the 282nd Battle of Comm Ave last Saturday at Agganis Arena to clinch its 17th Regular Season Championship in the 36-year history of Hockey East
• The Eagles swept the regular season series from the Terriers, posting their third straight 4-1 victory at BU
• Boston College improved to 5-1-1 in its last seven road trips to BU and 14-4-2 all-time at Agganis
• Rookie Alex Newhook extended his point streak to 10 games with a first period goal for his 40th point
• Senior David Cotton tallied his 15th goal of the year and moved into the top-50 all-time scorers in program history
• Senior Connor Moore netted his second of the year for the eventual game-winner and was plus-3 in the victory

• New Hampshire (15-14-3, 9-11-2 HEA) enters the final weekend of the regular season just one point out of the eighth playoff spot
• UNH is looking to snap a four-game winless streak following a tight home-and-home series with UMass Lowell last weekend that resulted in a 2-2 tie and 3-2 loss
• Junior defenseman Max Gildon leads the Wildcats with 20 assists and 27 points and will skate in his 100th career game on Friday night
• Sophomore forward Angus Crookshank has scored a team-leading 14 goals
• Junior Mike Robinson has started 24 games between the pipes with a 9-12-3 record, 2.58 GAA, .899 SV% and a pair of shutouts, including one against BC

WHAT A MONTH
• Alex Newhook became the first player to win both the Hockey East Player and Rookie of the Month awards in more than four years on Tuesday, sweeping the awards for the first time since Jack Eichel in November of 2015
• Newhook led the nation in February with 20 points, 11 assists, two shorthanded goals and a +14 rating
• He registered six multi-point outings in nine games, including a five-point night on Feb. 15 vs. Merrimack

THE NEW GUY
• Last Saturday, Alex Newhook became the first Eagles rookie since Colin White in 2016 to record 40 points in a single season and became just the 12th NCAA player age 19 or younger to hit 40 in the last decade
• Newhook leads all NCAA freshmen in goals (19), points (40), game-winning goals (4), shorthanded goals (3), plus-minus (+27) and multi-point games (12), including eight in his last 15 contests
• Overall, Newhook sits ninth nationally in points per game and 10th in goals per game
BOLD MOVE
• Matt Boldy was second nationally in scoring last month (behind Newhook) with 16 points and was named the runner-up for Hockey East Rookie of the Month
• Boldy had just one point in his first 11 collegiate games, but since New Year's the forward ranks third nationally in scoring by a freshman with 22 points in 17 games
• The 2019 first round pick has three multi-goal performances in his last five games with a +14 rating in that span
• He ranks fourth in scoring among league freshmen with 25 points and leads all rookies with 99 shots on goal
CRACKIN' THE TOP-50
• With his third period goal at Boston University last Saturday, David Cotton moved past Ed Rauseo '84 into the top-50 all-time scorers in program history with 127 points
• Cotton needs seven more points to eclipse Nathan Gerbe (133) and crack the top-40 all-time

• Spencer Knight collected his fifth Hockey East weekly award of the season on Monday as Rookie of the Week

• The rookie is riding a personal seven-game winning streak, during which he owns a 1.62 GAA and a .940 SV%
• The Darien, Connecticut native is fifth in the nation in winning percentage (.726) with a 22-8-1 record

• Logan Hutsko is third in Hockey East in goals per game with 18 tallies in 28 contests
• He is also tied for second in the league with four game-winning goals
