Three Eagles Selected for NCAA Fencing Championships

Bin Huang, Rylie Rueda and Spencer Kuldell were selected for the 2020 NCAA Fencing Championships.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Three members of the Boston College fencing team have been selected to compete in the 2020 National Collegiate Men's and Women's Fencing Championships, as announced today by the NCAA Men's and Women's Fencing Committee.

Bin Huang in men's foil, Spencer Kuldell in men's sabre and Rylie Rueda in women's epee will represent the Eagles at the event, which is being held at the TCF Center in Detroit, Mich., March 19-22. BC's three qualifiers ties for the most the program has ever sent to the NCAA finals.

Fencers will compete in a round-robin format of five-touch bouts. Â After round robin, top-four finishers in each weapon will fence in semifinal 15-touch bouts, with winners fencing to determine first and second places, and non-advancing fencers being awarded a tie for third place.
