Eagles Fall on the Road at Louisville 6-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Boston College suffered a 6-1 ACC setback on the road to Louisville on Sunday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
The Eagles dropped to 1-4 (0-3 ACC) while the Cardinals improved to 6-3 (2-0 ACC).
Louisville clinched the doubles point despite a 6-4 victory in the No. 2 slot from BC's Max Motlagh and Chris Grasel.
In singles play, the Eagles took five of the mix matches to a third set, but Sean Mullins claimed the only point after beating Matthew Fung in a tiebreaker from the No. 6 slot.
Grasel and Motlagh both won their opening set 6-4 but fell in their third sets 7-5. Derek Austin and Max Mendelsohn came back but lost third sets 6-3 as Austin faced the 66th-ranked player nationally in Tin Chen.
BC hosts Merrimack next Sunday, Feb. 16 at 12 p.m. before facing Brown on the road at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18 in Providence.
