Eagles Soar Over Merrimack 6-1 at Home

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College coasted to a 6-1 win over Merrimack on Sunday after hosting the Warriors in the Margot Connell Recreation Center.

The win brings the Eagles' record to 2-4 overall, while Merrimack sits at 1-3 after the match.

BC secured the doubles point with Javi Amantegui / Sean Mullins (6-1) and Derek Austin / Santiago Montufar (6-3) pulling out early wins. Chris Grasel and Max Motlagh were on the path to win but did not finish the match, leaving the score 5-2.

Boston College played well in singles, winning five out of six matches. Standout performances included Austin, Amantegui, Mendelsohn, and Mullins, who all won in straight sets.

Alexander Chieffalo battled Andre Singer into the third set tiebreaker to come out triumphant (6-2, 4-6, 10-3).

The Eagles will have a quick recovery time as they travel to play Brown on Tuesday (Feb. 18) in Providence.
