Charlotte North and Sheila Rietano earned at-large placement on the Preseason All-ACC Team as the Eagles were predicted to finish fourth in the conference
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The No. 5 Boston College women's lacrosse team has been picked to finish fourth in the conference, as the league has released its 2020 Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Eagles claimed two spots on the Preseason All-ACC Team as Charlotte North and Sheila Rietano earned at-large placements.
Boston College comes in fourth behind reigning conference champion North Carolina, Syracuse and Notre Dame, earning 43 points in the initial poll. Last season, the Eagles finished with the ACC Regular Season title after a perfect 7-0 effort over conference foes ahead of the postseason.
The Preseason All-ACC selection marks the first of Rietano's career after earning placement on the All-ACC Second Team at the conclusion of the 2019 season. Rietano finished with 35 goals and 14 assists through her 24 games started and is the Eagles' leading returning draw specialist after corralling 24 possessions last season.
North, who was earlier named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America First Team, earned her first conference accolades in maroon and gold after two years on the All-ACC Second Team as a sophomore and junior at Duke. North finished her career at Duke with the third-best scoring output in the nation, averaging 4.32 goals per game.
