BC's series at Arizona State was the first opportunity against a ranked opponent this season as the Sun Devils picked up the sweep. The Eagles went 8-15 against ranked opponents last season having defeated, including a series win at No. 19 Florida State and against NCBWA No. 1 NC State. The series win at FSU marked the first for the Eagles against a ranked opponent at home or on the road since taking two of three at No. 22 Georgia Tech (2016). Boston College picked up just two wins vs. ranked teams in 2017 and 2018 and went 10-9 vs. the ranked in 2016.BIG LEAGUE SPRING TRAINING
While in the desert last week, BC was surrounded by former Birdballers competing for Major League jobs at big league spring training in the Cactus League. Seattle RHP Justin Dunn (2016, 1st Round), San Francisco OF Chris Shaw (2015, 1st) and Oakland 1B Eric Campbell (2008, 8th) all have MLB experience and are in big league camps. Over in Florida's Grapefruit League, Yankees RHP Mike King (2016, 12th), who debuted after a September call-up last year, and Minnesota IF Joe Cronin (2016, 34th) also received early invites to spring training.UP NEXT
