
Belinskas Scores Overtime Winner to Lift BC Over Maine

Delaney Belinskas scored two goals, including the game-winning goal in overtime.
ORONO, Maine – Delaney Belinskas scored the game-winning goal midway through overtime to give the Boston College women's hockey team a 3-2 win over the University of Maine on Friday afternoon at Alfond Arena. Belinskas scored twice in the game while Kelly Pickreign made 30 saves for the win.
The Black Bears took a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game but Maegan Beres scored her fourth of the season late in the first for a 1-1 game at the first break. The teams traded goals again in the second period. Despite firing 20 shots on goal in the third period, it wasn't until Belinskas scored at the 2:34 mark of the overtime period that another found the back of the net.
Carly Jackson finished with 38 saves for Maine to Pickreign's 30. Both teams went 0-for-2 on the power play while Maine had the 41-32 lead in shots on goal.

- 1st, 5:02 | 0-1, MAINE GOAL: Liga Miljone worked the puck up to Ella MacLean at the high point, and MacLean's slap shot found its way through screens and into the net.
- 1st, 18:25 | 1-1, BC GOAL: Hadley Hartmetz snuck a slap pass to Beres off of the left post, and the junior received it on her backhand and was able to reach to the opposite post and tuck the puck past Jackson's left pad.
- 2nd, 6:12 | From the right wing in the BC zone, Olivia Finocchiaro threaded a pass up the middle of the ice to Belinskas. The forward caught the puck, took a stride past the defender and backhanded a shot through Jackson's legs from the hashmarks.
- 2nd | 2-2, MAINE GOAL: Taylor Leech's shot from the top of the left point beat Pickreign's glove to the far post.
- OT, 2:34 | 3-2, BC GOAL: Belinskas skated into the offensive zone, bursting past two defenders to pick up the puck on the right wing and then fired a shot from the bottom of the right circle that squeezed between Jackson's legs.
- BC now holds a 44-16-7 advantage in the all-time series, including a 21-7-4 mark in away games … the Eagles now have an eight-game unbeaten streak in the series … head coach Katie Crowley is 33-5-3 all-time against the Black Bears.
- With her two goals Delaney Belinskas registered her 21st career multi-point game and her sixth-multi goal game of the season.
- Belinskas now has 90 career points on 48 goals and 42 assists … her 90 points puts her into 25th place all-time in program history in points while her 48 goals rank tied for 16th.
- This marked Kelly Pickreign's second consecutive game of 30-plus saves.
- Savannah Norcross led BC with seven shots on goal on the day.
