Second Half Surge Leads Eagles Over Terriers
February 12, 2020 | Lacrosse
The Eagles outscored the Terriers 11-1 over the second half to mark BC's 11th straight win over BU
BOSTON --Â The Boston College lacrosse team jumped back on track with a dominant 16-6 win over cross-town rival Boston University on Wednesday. Three Eagles tallied at least three goals in the effort, which was capped by an 11-1 second half thanks to a balanced offensive surge and a lock-down defensive effort.
Juniors Charlotte North and Jordan Lappin got the scoring started for the Eagles, but the Terriers pushed back to take a 5-3 lead. North tallied two goals to cap off the opening half to knot the score at 5-5 heading into the break.Â
Out of the half, sophomore Jenn Medjid tallied back-to-back goals before allowing the lone Terrier goal of the second frame from Lexi Lewis with 24:22 remaining in the contest. Sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Hall led the defensive effort that halted the Terrier offense, allowing the Eagles to score nine straight goals en route to the win.Â
