The Louisville Cardinals scored once in each half to secure a victory over the Boston College women’s soccer team in an ACC clash on Sunday .
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Louisville Cardinals scored once in each half to secure a victory over the Boston College women's soccer team in an ACC clash on Sunday afternoon at Lynn Stadium.
The Eagles had the game's first chance – with Jenna Bike putting a look just wide in the opening minute – but the Cardinals broke the deadlock in the 15th minute. Emina Ekic then doubled the lead early in the second half.
BC kept pushing to find a goal and outshot the hosts 8-3 over the final 45 minutes but the Cardinals closed the game out for the final 2-0 score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 15' | After taking away a pass outside the 18-yard box, Emina Ekic carried the ball and then centered a pass that got loose and fell to Taylor Kerwin for a finish inside the post.
- 55' | A long service sent into the box bounced to Ekic and she controlled the ball, took a touch and curled a shot to the far post from 15 yards out.
GAME NOTES
- Louisville had a 10-9 lead in shots, with BC holding an 8-3 edge in the second half … the Cardinals had the 6-3 lead in corners.
- Boston College is now 3-3-0 in the all-time series with Louisville
- Goalkeeper Allie Augur finished with two saves for the Eagles.
- Jillian Jennings led BC with a game-high four shots … Jenna Bike and Emily Knous had two shots each while Laura Gouvin added one.
- The Eagles will play a single game this coming week, traveling to Pitt on Thursday, Oct. 8 for a 6 p.m. game against the Panthers.
