CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College volleyball team fell to Louisville, 3-1, at Power Gym on Saturday night. Ahead of the match, both teams agreed to play with mask face coverings throughout the contest.

The Cardinals claimed the match by scores of 25-21, 25-14, 26-28 and 25-16. The two sides went back and forth in the third until the Eagles forced a fourth set; outhitting UL .195-.100 for the frame.

Louisville's Anna DeBeer led all players with 18 kills on a .484 attack percentage. BC senior outside hitter Clare Naughton (Atlanta, Ga.) led the home side with 16 kills and hit .302 to go with six digs.

Rachael DeMarcus guided the Louisville offense with 53 assists and added eight digs. Freshmen setters Sophia Lambros (Fullerton, Calif.) and Grace Penn (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) recorded 25 and 16 assists, respectively. Alexis Hamilton posted 20 digs for the Cardinals, while freshman Anna Murphy (Zionsville, Ind.), who donned the libero jersey in the third and fourth sets, led the Eagles with 11.

Boston College is back in action next weekend at Pittsburgh; beginning Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
