Eagles Look to Bounce Back Hosting Tufts

The swim and dive team is set for its first home meet of 2020
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College swim and dive team is set to take on Tufts in a dual meet tomorrow evening at the Margot Connell Recreation Center. Competition is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
The Eagles opened 2020 on the road, heading south as the women faced Miami while the men took on Harvard in Coral Gables, Fla. Despite both teams falling in the meet, the Eagles combined for five first-place finishes, highlighted by winning performances from Michael Hinton (50 yard freestyle), Matt Szekely (200 yard individual medley), Lindsey Ryalls (1000 yard freestyle), Alexa Lantin (200 yard breaststroke), Haley Dolan (50 yard freestyle) and Nicole Barkemeyer (200 yard backstroke) .The relay teams of Hinton, Sam Roche, Zander Santana and Max Threlkeld (400 yard freestyle) and Maura Grimes, Taylor Covington, Victoria Lin and Haley Dolan (200 yard medley) both found the first-place finishes in their respective events.
The Eagles met Tufts just last season, shining in an overall win in Medford. The men's team earned 196 points to Tufts' 164 while the women earned a 237.5-138.5 win. The team earned rights to 10 Tufts pool records during the meet, with seven claimed by Eagle returners set to take on the Jumbos again tomorrow evening.
Following Tuesday's meet, the team jumps back on the road with dual meets against Fordham and Bucknell this weekend.
