DiEmmanuele enters record books with sixth triple of the season.
The two teams combined for 27 runs, 26 total hits, and 21 runners left on base.
Boston College finished the game with 15 hits, 11 RBI, 12 runs, three errors and 11 runners left on base. Pittsburgh had 11 hits, 15 runs, 14 RBI, two errors and 10 runners left on base.
BC senior Lexi DiEmmanuele had three hits and scored four runs. She also ripped a triple in the third inning, her sixth of the season. She now has the program record for most triples in a single season (6) along with the program career record (14). DiEmmanuele has also hit safely in five straight games.
Sophomore Emme Martinez finished with three hits, two runs and an RBI, while senior Allyson Moore had two hits and three RBI. Freshman Gianna Boccagno chipped in with two hits, including her eighth home run of the season and three RBI. Fellow rookie Ellie Mataya had two hits and two RBI. Freshman Kristin Giery had a hit and two RBI. She has now hit safely in four consecutive games.
Pittsburgh was buoyed by four home runs in the game, including two grand slams – one from Hunter Levesque in the third inning and Kaitlyn Kruger's game-winning grand slam in the seventh.
BC freshman Camryn Dolby took the loss (10-10) as she went 4.1 innings, with five strike outs and seven earned runs.
Pittsburgh used four pitchers in the game. Abby Edwards earned the win, her sixth of the season. She pitched the final two innings, faced seven batters, walked two and gave up one hit.
