
Apuzzo, Arsenault Tabbed ACC Players of the Year

The duo reigned in both Attacker and Midfielder of the Year nods
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theacc.com) - Seniors Sam Apuzzo and Dempsey Arsenault have earned ACC Player of the Year awards, as announced by the conference Wednesday afternoon. Apuzzo earned her second consecutive ACC Attacker of the Year title as Arsenault debuts as the ACC Midfielder of the Year. Both were named to the list of 25 Tewaaraton nominees in April.
Apuzzo was the first Eagle in program history to earn the title last year and reigns in her second consecutive honor after posting 104 points through 78 goals and 26 assists, leading the team and country throughout the season. A consistent threat in the draw circle as well, the West Babylon, New York native led the conference with 150 draw wins. She scored at least one goal for the Eagles in all 20 games on the season, posting at least three goals in 15 games, and earned ACC Offensive Player of the Week nods twice.
Arsenault becomes BC's first ACC Midfielder of the Year following a standout senior season, picking up a team-high 36 ground balls and causing 14 turnovers. She has put up 80 points through 57 goals and 23 assists while winning 84 draw controls. The four-year starter put up a 52% conversion rate on free position shots and earned both ACC Offensive Player of the Week and IWLCA National Player of the Week honors this season.
